I am Mitchell Yerxa, a fifth generation farmer and pilot based out of Colusa, California.

I grew up outdoors spending many family vacations watching my dad attempt to capture photos from his trusty film camera. His love of landscapes and special moments has always stuck with me, which ultimately helped lead me to where I am today.

My family has been growing tomatoes, almonds, sunflowers and a variety of other crops on the same soil for over 100 years. After graduating from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2012, I moved back home to help on the family ranch that I hope to take over from my Mom and Dad.

This path has not only given me the opportunity to really appreciate the beauty and power behind my daily surroundings but, the fortune to travel all in which is meant to be captured and shared.

Although my love will always be with local landscapes, I also enjoy capturing portraits and playing a small part in showing people just how awesome they are.

So, if you ever want to do a photoshoot with a farmer turned photographer who has a never-ending list of bad dad jokes and terrible puns, give me a call!
